SHIFTING BRILLIANCIES - A GROUP SHOW CELEBRATING NATURE AT KILLRUDDERY

About this experience

Date: 4th October - 4th January

Tickets: FREE ADMISSION

Place: KILLRUDDERY YARD

What to Expect

This curated exhibition explores how nature is constantly in flux. Set within the 19th‑century Killruddery Yard – a former farmyard now home to our Garden‑to‑Plate cafe and farm shop – it invites visitors to see the estate’s woodlands, gardens, botanicals and wildlife anew. The title comes from Seamus Heaney’s poem Lightenings, and curator Niamh Mac Gowan uses this idea of “shifting brilliancies” to frame works that capture changes in light, season and mood. Niamh is an interiors consultant and practicing artist who specialises in creating atmospheric spaces informed by nature; for this show she brings together printmakers and painters whose pieces range from botanical studies to expressive landscapes and beyond.

Artists: The exhibition features Yoko Akino, Jean Bardon, Leah Beggs, Carmel Benson, Lynda Bremner, Róisín Coyle, Gráinne Cuffe, Cliona Doyle, Niamh Flanagan, Clare Henderson, Louise Leonard, Niamh Mac Gowan, Niall Naessens, Caroline Patten, Robert Russell
and Brien Vahey. Though varied in medium and style, their works complement one another. Niamh has intentionally selected smaller, accessible pieces to encourage visitors to imagine owning fine art.
