EVENT DESCRIPTION
Yarn Storytelling Festival returns once again to the Shoot Room in Killruddery Yard on Saturdays, 7th and 14th November - one of our favourite ways to spend an afternoon; around a fire side with stories well-told.
On 7th November, join Lalla Fatima Abderrahan in the Shoot Room of Killruddery Yard. Lalla Fatima is an English Language teacher working with children and teenagers in Marrakech, and storytelling has become an important part of the way she teaches. She uses stories not only to help students to develop their English, but also to encourage their imagination, curiosity and creativity.
On 14th November, Markus Lukkonen, storyteller and artist from Finland, will tell stories in the shoot room. Markus tells his stories in a down-to-earth and dynamic style and in his performances he likes to mix personal stories, folktales and myths. He combines dark Finnish humour with beautiful imagery and observations of the human life.
We’ll have the fire lit and ready for an afternoon of wonderful storytelling. Suitable for children aged 5+, there is no need to book these events in advance, however we recommend coming down early as spaces are limited!
