Killruddery Arts

Killruddery Arts is an evolving programme that seeks to give a platform for artistic practice across the estate.

Our year-round rotating exhibitions on the heritage walls of Killruddery Yard invite visitors to engage with artistic impressions of the natural world. Accompanied by studio conversations and craft workshops, we celebrate biodiversity across the wild and cultivated landscapes of our working farm, flowering woodlands, shrublands, and 17th-century Gardens.

Killruddery Yard is open daily, with free admission and parking.

Bernadette Kiely

A LIMPID POOL OF TIME

19th June - 6th September, 2026

A Limpid Pool of Time brings together a selection of drawings and works on paper made by Bernadette Kiely between 1997 and 2020.

Inspired by land and water, and created using charcoal, pencil, pen and felt tip, many of these works were made outdoors in locations across Ireland, from Kilkenny and Waterford to Mayo and Donegal. Through close observation and a deep engagement with landscape, Kiely's drawings explore place, memory and the passage of time.

Bernadette Kiely is one of Ireland's most respected contemporary artists. Represented by Taylor Galleries, Dublin, and a member of Aosdána, she has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and internationally over a career spanning more than four decades.

Rather than hosting a formal opening, we are planning a mid-exhibition gathering where visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artist and learn more about her work.

Further details will be announced shortly.

South Korean artist Yeoung A Yeo’s exhibition drew inspiration from Ireland’s shifting light and striking contrasts. Her paintings explored the subtle interplay of light and shadow, to capture beauty in unexpected places.

  • Artist Residence

Founded by Fionnuala Brabazon (Lady Ardee), Killruddery has hosted an artist residency programme, on an invitation basis, since 2006. Reciprocal in nature, it supports artistic practice while enriching the estate’s cultural life.

Residencies are typically offered to artists whose work aligns with the Killruddery Arts exhibition series or who may be presented within our annual programme. Residencies range from immersive short stays to longer-term engagements.
