EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Join us at Killruddery over the October Bank Holiday Weekend for three days of autumnal fun, pumpkins and harvest-inspired activities.
Head into the Walled Garden, where our pumpkin patch will be the centrepiece of the weekend. Pick out your pumpkin amongst hay bales and autumnal displays, with plenty of seasonal family fun. No advance booking is required - simply pay for garden entry on the day, with complimentary garden entry for Killruddery Members. Pumpkins will be available to purchase separately plucked by you from our Patch .There’ll be a selection of traditional games and seasonal activities to enjoy within the Walled Garden, wander and soak up the autumn atmosphere and we’ll be joined by the Bray Lions for pumpkin carving, offering visitors the chance to get creative and transform their pumpkins into something wonderfully spooky
In Killruddery Yard, our Coffee Cart will offer a cosy autumn pick-me-up with warming mulled apple juice or cider, while our Flower Studio will stock pumpkins and beautiful harvest wreaths available to purchase, along-side our usual from Farm Shop & Cafe and Killruddery Woodfired Sourdough Pizza, our Grain Store tables are open for pre-booking on-line.
We're also launching a Giant Pumpkin Competition! Join our Kitchen Gardener Pat Keady in launching a giant pumpkin competition, he will give tips on how to grow your own pumpkins, including soil preparation, composting, nurturing and tending the fruiting with giant seeds to buy from the farm shop.The Long Room, Killruddery Yard 24th October at 12 noon. Free Entry.
And don’t forget to keep an eye out for our wonderfully imaginative Scarecrow Competition entries displayed along the avenue. The winner will be announced on our social channels and information boards on Sunday 25th of October at 3pm - join us in seeing which scarecrow takes the crown!
