Job Description: Visitor Experience Shift Leader

Responible To : Banqueting Manager

Role Summary:

The scope of this role includes managing & supplying a service in all daily visitors access; the Gardens and HorseYard, Entrance Shop, Grain Store Cafe, Farm Shop, Tea Room and Public events including tours in the House and in another shift when capacity allows. You may be required to support out Private Events department.

You will be responsible for proactive implementation of daily procedures, with particular responsibility for points of sale and cash management, ticket sales and memberships administration, staff breaks and staff movement between the areas, security and venue stewarding.

Main areas of responsibility

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE ENTRANCE TICKET SHOP & FARM SHOP

  • To assist in Point of Sale (POS) functions as outlined in SOP. Change runs and cash removals, aid POS operatives in cash and card payments, making sure till balances and cash up at the end of the day.

  • Help maintain a good telephone service, regularly check voicemails and respond appropriately or forward to relevant employee.

  • Provide break cover, back up during times of pressure in the Entrance Shop

  • Membership and Ticket Sales Technical Support; ensuring supply of materials for administration.

  • Communications: To make present all printed material and ensure signage is up to date.

  • Restock or adjust merchandise as necessary. (Shop operatives are responsible for re-stocking shelves with merchandise as per agreed specifications and maintaining stock levels)

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE GARDEN

  • To be available as a garden steward when needed to communicate with visitors and to aid awareness of water features and garden guidelines that need to be followed espeically in relation to health and safety and garden welfare.

  • First Aid Responder to dealing with casualties as per our SOPs.

  • To be aware of venue cleanliness and to bring to the attention of facilities/or other responsible staff member. To notice any sub standard conditions in any areas and report to relevant department.

  • Minding a group who has an outside facilitator but needs a Killruddery contact.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE F&B VISITOR EXPERIENCE

  • To assist in point of sale functions as outlined in SOP. Change runs and cash removals, aid POS operatives in cash and card payments, make sure till balances and to cash up at the end of the day.

  • Provide break cover if neccessary and back up during times of pressure in the F&B outlets.

  • To cash up tills at end of day or lock up in accordance with SOPs. When agreed with F&B team leaders.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN PRIVATE EVENTS:

  • Repsonsible for Point of Sale functions on event day, as outlined in SOP. Change runs and cash removals, train and aid POS operatives in cash and card payments and making sure till balances and to cash up at the end of the day.

  • To provide breaks and back up during moments of pressure.

  • To perform key holder and security functions when the need arises.

  • To be first responder to all casualties and deal with these situations in accordance with SOP’s.

  • Responsible Stock Management in accordance with event plan and SOP’s.

  • To assist the banqueting manager in ensuring smooth layout and standards throughout the event.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Desirable

Completed secondary level education

1 years experience working in the Entrance Shop or Tea Room at Killruddery.

1 years in a similar supervisory role in hospitality/retail
