Killruddery’s Seasonal Supper Club is back with attendees enjoying a brand new, set, sharing plate style menu.
Inspired by the abundance of summer produce from our kitchen garden and farm, Head Chef Niall O’Sullivan and his team prepare a vegetable and estate reared meat focused sharing plate menu in our atmospheric 19th Century Grain Store.
Join us by candle light, for an evening near our roaring log fire and enjoy a four-course set, sharing plate style menu.
Please book a time slot to attend, as we are keeping numbers low, please allow 24 hours if you are unable to attend as we might have a wait list. Payment for your four-course set menu is taken upon booking. Should you be unable to attend, you will be given credit towards a future visit. Please note, this cost does not include wine and beverages which you will enjoy on the night.

Lord & Lady Ardee are delighted to invite you to an outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s most poetic and colourful play – Love’s Labour’s Lost. Pack your picnic and blankets and go back in time with a captivating live performance by Off the Ground Theatre Company.
A comedy about love in all its forms, Love’s Labour’s Lost showcases the story of the King of Navarre and his friends who swear an oath, to study, to discipline, and to keep away from all women and temptations of love, for three years. Just as they do so, the Princess of France arrives with her ladies-in-waiting. Forced to camp outside the Kingdom because of the King’s new oath and laws, the ladies toy with the men, who quickly become enamoured with their French counterparts. Games and trickery abound as the men try to win the love of the women, learning plenty about love and themselves in the process, before an unexpected ending…
Refreshments will be available to purchase from Killruddery’s Tea Room on arrival, attendees are asked to dress for the weather and prepare for a wonderful evening of theatre in a magical setting.

Off the Ground was formed with the aim of producing quality theatre which is accessible to all. Now producing up to ten productions a year, including youth theatre shows, open air theatre and touring productions, Off the Ground have an extensive workshop programme which covers everything from Shakespeare to stage combat.

This August, Lord + Lady Ardee invite you to an evening of aerial and acrobatic theatre in the Gardens, with ‘To Odin Offered’ performed by Killruddery’s Artist in Residence – Aduantas Aerial.
Inspired by the horticultural landscape of Killruddery, with roots in the mythology of the land, this performance is a timeless journey of mortals and gods where Norse, Celtic and Pagan Wicklow will play a role in the telling of this story which transcends time, place and gravity.
In the spaces of Killruddery that are hidden after dark, Aduantas Aerial invite you to join them in The Otherwold, to join and witness. For this performance, those in attendance will gather at the Tea Room where they will be escorted to follow this walking show around Killruddery’s 17th Century gardens, before the performance ends in the surroundings of the Sylvan Theatre.
Guests are asked to dress for the weather in comfortable clothing and footwear, and prepare for a magical evening of performance in a beautiful setting.
ABOUT ADUANTAS AERIAL
In 2019, Aduantas was founded as a multidisciplinary performance group with a focus on immersive storytelling through acrobatics, aerial, contemporary circus and dance with outside-the-box staging and audience engagement. Their 2020 multi-award winning short film, ‘To The Waters and The Wild’ was filmed in Wicklow as an adaption of a 2019 live performance at the Convention Centre Dublin.
Inspired by shared histories, space and a place to make unique locations become characters, Aduantas has a particular interest in accessibility for both audiences and artists, which has stemmed from members of their group working with children and adults of varying additional needs, social circus projects worldwide, and personal experiences of disabilities and injuries. A core element of their drive behind creating Aduantas was to provide opportunities to those who are passionate about performance, not exclusively professionals. They believe everyone who is driven to practice, create and perform should have the chance to do so. At Killruddery, Aduantas’ residence is mostly based at the Sylvan Theatre.

Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic! Mr. + Mrs. Bear will bring along traditional games for all the children to play with, to ensure you all end the summer holidays on a high.
Join us for our End of Summer Garden Party and enjoy a fun-filled day, pack your own rug and picnic hamper to sit back and relax in between welly throwing, garden games and fun in our 17th century heritage Gardens. Also open for poorly visitors, the Teddy Bear + Doll’s Hospital and primary care unit will be patching up your favourite cuddly toys and dolls – leave them to be well-looked after while you enjoy an afternoon of activities, before picking them up to bring home at the end of the day after they are brought back to full health – all in aid of Barretstown.
This is a magical family day out to enjoy the Gardens at Killruddery as the summer draws to a close and to appreciate the simple joys of imaginative play. We look forward to seeing you there!

Botanical Workshop Series
We invite you to join us on Sunday, 25th September for a Natural Dye Workshop with Kathyrn Davey. Kathryn will guide you through the process of natural dyeing from undyed fibre to beautifully finished naturally dyed textiles. We will start with a stroll along our Cut Flower border and around the stunning gardens of Killruddery to gather plants to add to our dye pots. Kathryn will guide you through the process of preparing your fibres for dye through cleaning & mordanting (an ingredient added to ensure the dye binds to the fibre for long-lasting colour). We will then create numerous pots of natural dye from our foraged materials, learn how to extract the dye & dye natural fibres.
Kathryn will provide all the necessary materials along with a prepped and mordanted item for you to dye and take home. Participants will have the opportunity to dye various fibres in a wide range of colours & experiment with expanding their palette. Students will leave with their own natural dye swatch book from samples created during class & a finished naturally dyed piece. Everyone will leave with an understanding of this ancient practice & the skills necessary to create and apply colour to textiles. This workshop will enrich your appreciation of the natural world while opening your eyes to a world of colour that lies beneath the everyday plants of our life.
This workshop is hosted by Lady Fionnuala Aston-Ardee with a welcome tea/coffee on arrival, a two-course lunch in the Grain Store Restaurant with a menu designed by Head Chef Niall O’Sullivan using produce from our Walled Gardens, and a glass of bubbles or mocktail to toast to a beautiful day.
About Kathryn
Kathryn Davey is a natural dyer & author based in Dublin. Kathryn works with pure fibres & natural plant dyes to create colour that is soothing to our senses and gentle on our Earth’s valuable resources. Finding inspiration in nature and the colours of her surrounding landscape, Kathryn is drawn to the tones of each passing season which is reflected in her work and the fibres she dyes. Passionate about the history, heritage and magic of the craft, Kathryn loves to share this process with others, showing how simple and satisfying it can be to work with plants & bring a rainbow of natural colour into your life.
Who is this workshop for?
• There is no experience required for this class.
• This workshop is for complete beginners & intermediate practitioners.
• Those wanting to explore plant dyes & unsure where to start.
• Those that may have experienced challenges or felt overwhelmed by the process.

***Participants are welcome to bring along some items to dye, such as pillow cases, old t-shirts, stained linens which can be revived in the natural dye and make great beginner projects. All items must be washed before the workshop by washing in the machine with one teaspoon of soda crystals (note, do not add detergent), and wash on the appropriate cycle.

Lord + Lady Ardee invite you to Killruddery’s annual Harvest Moon Gala Charity Ball in aid of Their Lives Matter, Tanzania – a charity very close to Lady Ardee’s heart.
With this wonderful event making a return for another year, you will be welcomed with a drinks reception and string quartet in the beautiful surrounds of The Orangery, before making your way to our Dairy Yard and 17th Century Grain Store for a delicious three course meal, with music, dancing and general merriment until late. This won’t be a traditional gala dinner, expect to move around – three courses reimagined from your traditional sit down dinner!
Complete with a raffle and auction on the evening in the Dairy Yard, proceeds from this charity ball will go towards the wonderful work that Their Lives Matter does, expanding children’s cancer services in Tanzania, and helping to achieve TLM’s mission to provide free and curative treatment for the children of Tanzania, every time.
Join us in your finery for a fantastic evening, all in aid of a very worthy cause.
ABOUT THEIR LIVES MATTER
Their Lives Matter was founded by Bray native Dr. Trish Scanlan in a tiny ward in Tanzania with a team that included one local medical colleague and five nurses. Before this wonderful charity was founded, nine out of ten children with cancer who reached treatment facilities in Tanzania, died. In addition to this, those that reached these facilities represented less than 10% of children with cancer in Tanzania. As a result – in overall terms a cancer diagnosis was fatal for almost every child in the country. In 2005, less than 10 percent of children diagnosed with cancer survived; now over 50% of children diagnosed with cancer survive as a result of the work of everyone at TLM and the Tanzanian children’s cancer network.

Botanical Workshop Series
Join Killruddery Cut Flowers this Autumn and learn the craft of willow weaving with master basket weaver Sarah Jenkinson, as you weave a bird feeder for your garden and discover the species of birds with whom you share your habitat. This workshop is a good introduction to working with willow and you will be shown a variety of traditional weaves and basket making techniques.
With limited slots available to ensure the workshop remains intimate and each individual receives plenty of guidance throughout the day, all materials for this workshop will be provided by Sarah Jenkinson and the Killruddery team, and everyone will leave the workshop with a woven bird feeder to bring home with them. This workshop also includes a welcome tea/coffee and scone, glass of bubbles and light lunch in the Grain Store Restaurant.
To ensure high quality tuition and support numbers for this workshop will be maximum 12 people.
ABOUT SARAH JENKINSON
Sarah Jenkinson lives and works in Galway city as a full time basketmaker. Sarah made her first willow basket a few years ago and instantly fell in love with the uniquely spiced aroma and texture of willow, and the ancient craft of basketmaking. Having been given the opportunity to work as an apprentice with Ciaran Hogan at his workshop and shop at the Spiddal Craft Centre, it was here that Sarah developed her skills and love for traditional Irish basketmaking along with attending basketmaking residencies all over Europe where she learned new basketry skills from many talented basketmakers.
Sarah loves weaving with willow and she has found that the ancient craft of basketmaking has rooted her in a very special place, deeply connected to the earth. Sarah weaves baskets with barked willow allowing the stunning natural colours and the uniquely spiced aroma of the willow varieties to shine through on each basket. Sarah also grows various willow varieties in a small Salley Garden in Connemara from which she harvests willow every winter for use in her baskets.
