EVENT DESCRIPTION
Fionnuala and Anthony Brabazon, Lord & Lady Ardee are delighted to welcome back Off the Ground Theatre this summer for another darn-tootin’ outdoor theatrical adventure, as they recount the life and times of one of the Wild West’s most notorious outlaws, with The Ballads of Billy the Kid. Fun times, enormous hats and hilarious accents are guaranteed with this summer show.
Billy the Kid might be one of the most famous gunslingers to have ever lived, but how much of what he did was true? How can we know for sure? Join Billy on the adventures of his lifetime, as he scales mountains, robs trains, duels bad guys, races against famous cowboys and ultimately meets his maker!
Pack your picnic and blankets and go back in time with this live performance by Off the Ground Theatre Company in the surrounds of our Sylvan Theatre. Attendees are asked to dress for the weather and prepare for a fantastic evening of theatre in a magical setting.
ABOUT OFF THE GROUND THEATRE
Off the Ground was formed with the aim of producing quality theatre which is accessible to all. Now producing up to ten productions a year, including youth theatre shows, open air theatre and touring productions, Off the Ground has an extensive workshop programme which covers everything from Shakespeare to stage combat.
FAQ:
- This performance will begin at 19.30 in our Sylvan Theatre, with doors opening at 19.00
- Please wear warm clothing and dress appropriately for the weather
- Please bring picnic blankets and low backed chairs
- Please allow yourself plenty of time to arrive for the performance, park in Killruddery’s main car park and follow signs to the performance
- This production will contain light-hearted reference to guns/gunfighting, as well as scenes featuring mock-shooting, duels, etc.
