Job Description 2020 Private Events Shift Leader

Responible T0 : Banqueting Manager

Role Summary:

The scope of this role includes managing and supporting services in all the areas in the booked event visitors access; Public events including house tours and private events.

Responsible for proactive implementation of daily procedures, with particular responsibility for points of sale and cash management, Ticket Sales and Memberships administration, staff breaks and staff movement between the areas, security and venue stewarding. To have specific knowledge of the key historical points of Killruddery estate, the orientation of the estate, current and upcoming events and the company ethos. Have knowledge of the layout and history of Killruddery so that you can answer questions comprehensively

Main areas of responsibility

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE ENTRANCE TICKET SHOP & FARM SHOP

  • Any necessary communication with these areas to up-sell an event, provide signage or assist with guest registration or direction

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE GARDEN

  • To be available as a garden steward when needed to communicate with visitors and to aid awareness of water features and garden guidelines that need to be followed espeically in relation to Health and Safety and Garden Welfare.

  • First Aid Responder and dealing with casualties as per our SOP’s.

  • To be aware of venue cleanliness and to bring issue to the attention of facilities/or other responsible staff member. To notice any substandard conditions in any areas and report to relevant department.

  • Minding a group who has an outside facilitator but needs a Killruddery contact.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES IN PRIVATE EVENTS:

  • Repsonsible for Point of Sale functions on event day, as outlined in SOP. Change runs and cash removals, train and aid POS operatives in cash and card payments and making sure till balances and to cash up at the end of the day.

  • To provide breaks and back up during times of pressure.

  • To perform key holder and security functions when the need arises.

  • To be first responder to all casualties and deal with these situations in accordance with SOP’s.

  • Responsible for stock management in accordance with event plan and SOPs.

  • To assist the banqueting manager in ensuring smooth layout and standards throughout the event.

  • Be involved in events during the planning, execution and reporting stages.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Essential

Desirable

Completed secondary level education

1/2 years experience working in a entrance shop or Tea Room at Killruddery.

1-2 years in a similar customer interfacing role in hospitality/retail

Competencies (Behaviour & Attributes):

Be friendly and engaging, be helpful and polite, comfortable working with large crowds and the public, be physically fit, be able to multi task and problem solve, be adaptable and flexible. Be willing and able to train F&B assitants.

To be calm under pressure have good I.T skills and have a proven willingness and ability to learn.
