KILLRUDDERY MEMBERSHIP GIFTS YOU A GARDEN!

Become a Killruddery Member: enjoy the very best of our annual event programme & unlimited access to our Gardens DURING OPEN SEASON.

Discover the benefits of having an 800 acre estate as your own natural sanctuary: a place to walk, talk, imagine, forget & dream! Our Tea Room is reserved for our Garden Visitors and Members only – a place for relaxing with views across our 17th Century Formal Gardens to the Little Sugarloaf.

Members can also avail of free and discounted events in our annual Programme which celebrates the magical outdoors at Killruddery. Each year we feature a series of garden and ecological talks, botanical workshops, family fun days and musical moments – and illuminating historical perspectives on our family line who first lived here in 1618!

A daily local food & meet up space

Support our community as a Member and make Killruddery your one-stop-shop for delicious, home-grown food.

Our daily Farm Shop offers Killruddery’s own meat & game, artisan cheeses, salad, vegetables, bread and cakes – all great quality and cultivated within several miles of our estate. We can guarantee we know how has grown, raised, baked or processed each item that we sell. Beautiful stems and arrangements of our own Killruddery grown cut flowers are also for sale!

The Saturday Farm Market is another Killruddery mainstay during our open season: our passionate stall holders have been dedicated to evolving a local food space at Killruddery for many years: we are so appreciative of all their efforts to keep providing amazing local food and products.

“We programme with care to ensure we host well-loved events every year and also offer a new, eclectic line-up. Our wish is that every Killruddery Member experiences a feeling of ‘home’ here and takes precious time to re-energise in these beautiful 17th century gardens.” – Lady ardee

Below are some highlights from our 2019 Event Programme.

KNOW YOUR POLLINATORS

Dr. Matthew Jebb

Our Programme 2019 looked to Mother Nature to learn how to better protect ourselves and the world in which we live. KNOW YOUR POLLINATORS with DR. MATTHEW JEBB, Director of Ireland’s National Botanic Gardens, provided our Members and Garden Visitors with an illuminating walk, talk & search through the Gardens to learn about those industrious pollinators that have co-evolved with flowering plants over millions of years.

HERBS, FOLKLORE & HEALTH

Alys Fowler

British horticulturist and writer Alys Fowler gave a fabulous talk at Killruddery covering herbal teas, poultices, nutrition and cooking! A single plant can radically change your cooking, offering new pairing and flavours – Alys introduced us to life-giving herbs beyond the go-to parsley, basil and rosemary. Her new book, Hidden Nature, is the Guardian Bookshop’s Book of the Month.
